Sports tournaments at the University of Bayreuth

Beach volleyball, roundnet, or beach soccer?

No matter what sport you are talented at, at Summer Feeling you can prove your skills on the sand together with your fellow students. In June 2026, the University of Bayreuth will hold internal championships in these three beach sports on the university beach.

Registration was open until April 24, 2026, on a first-come, first-served basis.

German University Championships

In 2026, Germany’s top college beach volleyball and beach soccer players will once again be coming to Bayreuth, as we will once again be hosting the German College Beach Volleyball Championships.

Bavarian Beach Cup Hide

June 20, 2026 – starting 10 a.m. – Beach Arena at Summer Feeling in Bayreuth

The tournament will be played 5-on-5 (4 field players, 1 goalkeeper + substitutes)

Eligibility requirements: Any soccer club affiliated with a DFB regional association is eligible to participate. Multiple teams per club are also allowed.

Team name can be chosen freely
No entry fee!
Points toward the DFB Beach Soccer Tour are available

UBT Summer Smash (beach volleyball)Hide

June 16: Women’s/Men’s

Matches will be played 2-on-2

Entry fee: €65 per team (includes a custom jersey set and other benefits)
Registration deadline: April 24, 2026
Teams: 12 women’s, men’s, and mixed teams of 2 players each
If one person plays in both tournaments, a €5 fee applies for the second registration

UBT Roundnet Cup Hide

Registration fee: €15 per team
Registration deadline: May 24, 2026
Teams: 24 teams of 2 players each

German Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championship Hide

Matches will be played 2-on-2

Registration fee: €89 per team (includes a set of custom jerseys and other benefits)
Registration deadline: May 27, 2026
Women: 16-team main draw
Men: 24-team main draw
DVV ranking is required (as of May 25, 2026)

UBT Beachsoccer Cup Hide

June 25, 2026 (optional extension to June 26, 2026)

Teams: 16 teams of 10 players each
Registration fee:
- €320 per team (includes a set of custom jerseys and other benefits) or
- €32 per player for teams with fewer than 10 players
Registration deadline: April 24, 2026

Can non-members of the UBT participate?Hide

Yes and no, enrolled students and university staff may participate in all tournaments. Non-enrolled individuals may only register for the Bavarian Beach Cup.

Can you participate in both the women's/men's and mixed tournaments in beach volleyball?Hide

Yes. If you get both places, the Summer Feeling team will contact you directly.
