Sustainability as an Essential Component of Summer Feeling at Unistrand

Summer Feeling at Unistrand is about more than just athletic competitions. At a time when global challenges such as climate change and environmental protection are taking center stage, we want to take responsibility for steering this event toward a sustainable path. Our comprehensive sustainability strategy reflects this commitment. 

Our goal is to demonstrate, through the organization of the Summer Feeling at Unistrand 2026, that hosting environmentally friendly sporting events is not only necessary but also possible. To this end, we have partnered with GreenCampus and planned our strategy for this year. You can find everything you need to know about it here on these pages.

Introducing GreenCampus

GreenCampus is the University of Bayreuth’s sustainability office. It coordinates all sustainability-related activities on campus and serves as the point of contact for all university members regarding sustainability issues of any kind. It serves as the interface between the university administration, the Presidential Commission on Sustainability, students, and other campus members, through which a wide range of university projects (e.g., sustainability strategy, supplementary studies in sustainability, sustainability awards, etc.) have already been supported and will continue to be supported in the future.
