That was the Summer Feeling at the University Beach 2026
From June 13 to 26, 2026, Bayreuth’s largest student-organized event returned to the Campus Rondell! With hundreds of metric tons of sand poured in to transform the heart of the university into a unique beach landscape, twelve themed days offered plenty of sports, culture, and summer fun!
Sports
Whether it was the electric stadium-like atmosphere at the public screenings for the World Cup, high-level matches at the German Collegiate Beach Volleyball Championships, or fun and action at university tournaments – there was something for everyone.
Culture
From the Rotmain-Center Children’s and Family Day to the big Homecoming and the Campus-Festival150, held as part of the 150th anniversary of the Bayreuth Festival – a wide variety of side events offered the approximately 35,000 visitors a different lineup of musical acts every day.
Lifestyle
The Maisels Weisse Beach Beer Garden, food service, and a lounge area filled with lounge chairs created the feeling of a mini-vacation right in the middle of everyday university life. To keep the Summer Feeling tradition – which has been around since 2012 – alive, the Summer Feeling team, made up of 48 students majoring in sports economics as well as media and cultural studies, worked tirelessly for nearly a year to ensure another summer full of unforgettable moments in Bayreuth’s largest sandbox.
Two weeks full of shared memories and experiences – thank you to each and every one of you for being there. Summer Feeling is now taking a well-deserved break. While we look back on the event, the first preparations for 2028 are already underway. So go ahead and clear your schedules for the summer of 2028.
